INLOCIS Navigator from Roger-GPS

Accurate Indoor GPS L1 Positioning with Real Coordinates – Not Just Signal Repeat

Compatible with standard GPS receivers • Accurate to ca. 2.5m • Fibre-distributed architecture

Optical Iridium repeater kit extends distance from outdoor antennas to indoor space by < 3Km

Why INLOCIS Navigator Is Needed

GNSS/GPS satellite signals are available globally and form the backbone of modern positioning, navigation, and timing systems.

However, these signals are typically unavailable indoors due to attenuation and blockage caused by building structures.

As a result, personnel operating in signal-denied environments cannot access reliable positioning data, limiting both safety capabilities and operational efficiency.

Conventional GNSS/GPS repeater systems can extend outdoor signals indoors, but they do not provide accurate location coordinates indoors.

What is needed instead is a system capable of generating precise, real-time position data indoors, enabling reliable tracking of personnel and assets under cover.

Crucially, this must be achieved using standard GPS receivers, without the need for additional applications, calibration processes, or proprietary hardware.

Transition from indoor to outdoor, and vice versa, is seamless – no GPS acquisition delay experienced.

INLOCIS Navigator Indoor GPS location system

How INLOCIS Navigator Works

INLOCIS Navigator delivers accurate indoor GPS positioning inside buildings, allowing standard receivers to determine their location with the same confidence and continuity as outdoors.

Live GPS signals are captured via an outdoor antenna and delivered to the INLOCIS Navigator system via a coaxial cable.

Within the system, signals are conditioned and distributed via fibre-optic infrastructure to a network of passive indoor antennas.

Using simulation techniques, these antennas re-radiate the GPS signals across the coverage area, enabling receivers to calculate accurate position coordinates indoors.

Antennas are typically spaced 20-40m apart, although this is variable dependent upon the required accuracy and the layout of the building.

The transmit power at each antenna provides coverage up to 25m from its location.

The result is true indoor GPS availability—without specialised receivers, device modification, calibration, or proprietary software.

Unlike conventional repeater systems, INLOCIS Navigator delivers deterministic positioning performance suitable for safety-critical and operational environments.

System description

The main system components are:

  1. Outdoor GPS L1 antenna

  2. Low-loss coaxial cable from antenna to INLOCIS input

  3. Up to 36 single-mode fibre outputs (maximum 6 cards each with 6 outputs)

  4. Up to 36 passive re-radiating antennas with optical fibre input

INLOCIS applications

Public safety: for example, real-time accurate tracking of TETRA terminals in a critical infrastructure environment.

Tunnels and mines: provides accurate coordinates for tracking of physical assets, including machinery and personnel.

Next steps …..

Launching in 2026, INLOCIS Navigator is available for trial deployment in environments where accurate positioning is critical.

INLOCIS brings GPS capability into previously inaccessible spaces, enabling accurate indoor tracking of personnel using standard public safety radios.

The result is improved operational awareness, faster response times, and enhanced safety for teams working in complex or challenging environments.
